Designed around the precise timing requirements of competitive sailing, the Yacht-Master II features a programmable countdown timer with mechanical memory and on-the-fly synchronisation. The redesigned display incorporates a dedicated 10-to-0-minute countdown scale around the edge of the dial, allowing the remaining time to be read quickly and clearly.

Its matt white lacquer dial has been engineered to reduce reflections. The countdown is complemented by a central seconds hand that travels counter clockwise, making the crucial final seconds of the timer especially easy to follow.

Framing the dial is a bidirectional rotatable bezel fitted with a blue 60-minute graduated Cerachrom insert. Manufactured from Rolex’s highly durable ceramic, the bezel is exceptionally resistant to scratches, corrosion and fading. Its recessed numerals and graduations are coated with platinum, creating a sharp contrast against the rich blue ceramic.

The 44mm Oystersteel case is waterproof to 100 metres and fitted with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and Triplock screw-down crown. Completing the watch is the robust Oyster bracelet, secured by a folding Oysterlock safety clasp and Rolex’s Easylink comfort extension system, allowing the bracelet to be increased by approximately 5mm.
